I only want to preface this by stating that I am not picking on or criticizing Portland, I think there's a lot of potential here! Given that much of this county doesn't have shelters, or has no shelters for women. The difference here is that everything is public knowledge, whereas everywhere else I have lived and been, you're left completely in the dark as to who is in office, who is the head of any company or oraganization, and to everything else. And it is the same everywhere. The wealthy few, in control, with all the money and resources will do exactly as they please regardless of the will of the people or the needs of the people.
